What is a "short jaunt"? I rather think that all my rides are short, jaunty
or not: 30 miles is the exception, 20 is typical, a 6 or 8 out and ditto
back, for an errand, is also very common.
Segwaying: besides errands, I like to jaunt in several different places;
y'all share your choices, too.

Difficulty trying to fit big rides into my life validates my well being.
It's all that other stuff that keeps me well rounded so my rides have
become shorter and combined with other responsibilities or chores.
Shorter rides can be much more fulfilling too. Showing cycling to someone

Thanks folks for the kind remarks. Bill, I'm with you...many of my "short

based on the weather, just so I can go on a longish, "wherever it takes me"
midweek ride. I've had my Appaloosa for just two weeks and now unders
My weekly LONG ride might be an hour or two. My short jaunts are 10 - 20
minutes. There's nothing wrong with actual short jaunts either. I get
four of those short jaunts per day, and I enjoy those as well.

You could actually adopt a similar freewheeling approach to that racy
bike too, you know - it's not like it's mounted on rails. Preconceptions
are the only thing tying you down. You'd be shocked at how many people

when my brain is game! Today's was a wee jaunt into the uphill headwind
wishing I had on more than my medium weight flannel, but not wanting to

Yep . . . from the very first time I ever rode a bike up and down the
