Subjectively, it feels faster than my Atlantis. Although setup
differences make them really impossible to directly compare.
Of course, being a slow rider at the best of times (just ask the SoCal
riders) I am definitely not one to make judgements on how fast this or
that frame seems.

To the Hillbornians: The SH is getting more and more interesting to
me. Any thoughts on perceived fastness or slowness on paved roads?
It looks great for dirt roads, but I don't get out on those too
often. Thanks!

I think fastness and slowness depends on the rider - or the gumption
of the rider. You can ride this bike fast, or slow (and take in the
view). Of course, if you want to keep in the paceline of your local
type-A bike club where you'll be quick to blame equipment if you fall
behind, you might
I think it all depends on how you gear it. I run my Hillborne with a
46 tooth front ring and 13 rear at times feel slower than I want to be
(I tend to mash more than spin too...), but its not the frame keeping
me back... So far the lack of bigger gears / faster speeds has only
bothered me on
Gorgeous photography. Kudos to the photographer.

IIRC correctly, the Bleriot tubing mimicked the Salutki's tubing. The SH is
somewhere between that and that Altantis, so it should be a bit stouter...

Isn't that custom paint amazing! I hope that's becoming a good seller for
RBW as it seems like a great bike.
Anyone have any comments as to how it compares to a Bleriot?

Own both. Built up a 52 cm Hillborne but it turned out to be too long in
the top tube for my wife. Bought and built up a Bleriot and she's now quite
happy. In the mean time I was able to ride the Hillborne a couple of times
on my daily commute and took it for a 3 day
David,
I have to admit that I've not ridden my wife's Bleriot more than 40 miles
around my side 'o town so I don't know how it would feel loaded on a dirt
road with a grade. But I will say that the Sam is a capable touring bike,
not stiff feeling, and very easy to pedal with load on a grade. I'm
I'll take what I can get! :-) I wouldn't be riding it loaded, so just
interested in how it feels during regular rides. Like I mentioned, Bleriots
kind of felt over-built (for me) and I'm wondering if the Sams are similar.
I think the comparisons to the Trek Specializededededed are valide, so
