Along the same subject I was in Sams Club last month and they had a whole stack of 24 volt 200 watt Grape Solar grid-tie modules for sale at a really low price. However, these were pigtail connectors and there was no documentation, no inverters, no combiners, no nothing to tell customers anything
We have designed and installed many systems like this and do not like running
high voltage DC long distances. We invert at the array and run 240 VAC to the
house. This means the array dis-connects match all the other AC dis-connects
and safety switches on the home's exteror that the
s and terminals stay clean.
Stay safe, and remember, if you "taste" something salty in the air whilestanding around in a battery room - get out!

We designed and installed a few off grid systems out west about 10 years ago and found all the wells there drill halfway to China. Since here in Virginia most wells hit quality water at 30 feet, we know there was no way the single SW4048 could handle a 2 or 3 HP pump. So we installed a 300 gallon
Well, this should start up a fire storm. I will not mention the county or state as we do work in many other areas, but today I stopped by a county building permit office to apply for a permit to install a grid-tie solar system that includes battery backup and generator, which we are adding to an

As you know, cold floors reduce battery charge. We use a support "shelf" made of pressure treated 2 x 4 on EDGE, separated by 3/8" pressure treated plates every 2 feet, using 8 foot long boards. This 16" wide by 8 foot long shelf is placed on standard concrete blocks spaced every 2 or 3 feet,
completed and if all we have been told is accurate.

For years we were using 3 other brands, but last year switched to Evergroon 200
watt units when they started making black frames. I like how they are shipped.
Their lower voltage makes it easier to wire more in series without bumping up
against high limit on most inverters.

Just completed an install with ground mounted array and SunnyBoy with AC coupled connection to output bkr.panel of battery based Xantrex XW6048. The XW is also supplied from a generator for backup power during outages.

I sure would like to have a final definitive answer on this. For years we were installing Kohler 8.5 kW units as they were easy for any inverter to start and stop with a simple relay, and their output was easy for the local Kohler dealer to re-configure for 100% output at 120 VAC. All they ever

Although we have completed tons of grid-tie systems, and off-grid battery systems, this will be our first AC coupled system and there are still a few things we need to resolve. We will be using a 4 kW Sunny Island on a ground-mounted array about 150 feet from home. We are considering using a
