Hi,
I was recently sent a perl script that came from a windows machine.
It wouldn't run as it was, so I opened it up in vi to see what was wrong,
and I noticed at the bottom that it said the file was in [TEXTMODE].
Well, never seeing that before, I looked to see if I could change the mode
some
A mouse would be useful even if you never ran an X session. gpm gives you text
copy and paste functions in the command line environment. I ran Linux with no
GUI for a couple of years before I started using X... I didn't need it.
As far as configuring in terminal mode it's not that difficult. I
I have a yamaha opl3-sax soundboard and I can't configure it to work with
Linux (RH4.2)
Can anyone tell me the on's and off's in kernel sound configuration ?

I've been running RH5 for a little while at home, and I have found what
I believe to be a security flaw and an application error. Does anybody
have some enlightenment regarding these:
First, when any user uses xlock, entering the root password at the
prompt will stop xlock, returning to the user
I just installed Netscape communicator 4.0.4 on a fresh Red Hat 5.0
install with a Matrox MGA with 4 MB. When I run Netscape under fvwn95 I
find that the window decorations become inactive. For example the
minimize, dismiss and other buttons on the frame no longer work. The
title bar also doesn't

Yes! I got a great link yesterday to this place:

All kinds of good info on the wheel mice. I did get the wheel to work, not
just as a button, but also as a wheel. =) (I was a bit disappointed by it,
but maybe I didn't play enough with the ZAxisMappin
I bought the Red Hat Linux library CD with its "650,000 pages of
searchable Unix & Linux reference material" but am having problems
installing under RH 5.0. This is not a supported RH product so there is
no hope for any help from RH. I tried. The instructions are to mount the
CD-ROM and run a scri

Hello,
Ah, you too, eh? Yes, this is IMHO a _very serious_ flaw with 5.0 alpha.
It was sufficiently bad I had to downgrade to 4.2
What do you currently have? What I have is the contents of the doc
directory that came with the source code. If that's of interest to you,
send me e-mail and I'll send it.
