I know there's a bunch of web sites out there that check the browser
that you're using and refuse to do whatever if they don't see IE or

Does redhat (or someone else) have a repository of all versions of
various rpm's that were released for each version of redhat?
Specifically, I'm looking for the kernel rpms for 2.4.18-10 for 7.3. I
can't use the latest kernel because it doesn't work with vmware as of

I'm looking for some software to create web-based photo albums. I've
used Gallery, but it gets really slow with the number of pictures I'm
giving it (on the order of 10,000 or so) to display.
What have people found that'll work with a large number of pictures?

I'm installing RH7.2 on a Dell PowerEdge 1650 server. It's got a
dual-port Intel gigabit ethernet installed. Redhat installs fine and it
identifies the two nics as e1000's and loads the module. I'm testing and
installing it connected to a 100Mbit network jack. I add the following

if it fixes it. The version of the driver seems to be the same in kernel
2.4.9-31 and 2.4.18-3.
Anyone else see this problem?

Does the version of pine supplied by RedHat support imap? If so, I've

Didn't get a reply the first time so sorry but I'm trying again!
I've got a laptop with 7.2 on it with a 2.4.9-13 kernel. The modules

should work since the routes were the same before and after. I added
the two statements in the network rc file at the end as a workaround. Has
anyone seen this before and have a solution?

I've got a machine running RedHat 6.1 with a DSL connection. Atlantech

every 46 hours or so pump will either die or go crazy and suck up all

Does anyone know whether this mouse will work with a plain RedHat 6.2
installation? It has a USB connector, but it comes with an adapter so it
will plug into a PS/2 port.

We're planning on locating a Redhat machine offsite along with a bunch
of Suns connected via their serial ports to a terminal server so we can
remotely gain access to their consoles. What's the best way to set up
the linux machine? I know in lilo.conf you can put "serial=0,9600" to
have lilo be ac

Does anyone know why ps sometimes shows a process name in brackets and
sometimes doesn't? Specifically, I start up portsentry twice, once for
tcp and once for udp. After a while, instead of ps showing the command I
used to start it, it will display as "[portsentry]" and I can't figure
out why.

I've got the following route added thanks to portsentry. I've tried
various combinations in the route command but haven't been able to get
this one deleted! Any suggestions?

Okay, I've done everything I can think of to get ppp working. The modem
is not a winmodem. I can talk to it and get it to dial with minicom.
I've triple checked the configuration settings and everything seems
fine, but the fu**er just refuses to do anything with an "ifup ppp0". It
