I have a dial-on-demand (DOD)to ISDN installed on a small multi homed
network of 10+ workstations using pppd and it works like a dream. Recently I
have noticed that the server dials out more often- every 20 minutes or so
during the night and I am struggling with logging the first packet

Thanks to all who helped I now have this figured out.
The details: Red Hat 6.2, kernel 2.2 16-3, IP masquerading set up with
Pmfirewall, rp3 used to set up internet connection and wvdial as the
dialler. I selected Red Hat>Internet>Dialup Configuration Tool. In the box
