Looking on my system module-info is also used by "kernelcfg". This seems
to be a GUI to edit /etc/modules.conf. Is module-info perhaps a database
of valid parameters for the various kernel modules? A complete stab in the
dark.

I can't find a reference to module-info in /usr/sbin/redhat-config-network

Hi,
I've recently started to build a new kernel using the
latest 2.4.18-24.8.0 rpm released by Red Hat, for
RH8.0
After building it and copying the relevant files to
the /boot location, I'm wondering what the module-info
file is and what it's meant to do.
Here's what I have

is there another one generated when i build a new kernel?

I compiled a new kernel and even though I don't have a new module-info in the boot directory, everything is wo

Hi,
I am wondering how to obtain the /boot/module-info file that is
installed by the RedHat kernel rpms. What is it used for and how is it
generated?
Also, what is the /boot/vmlinux-2.2.16-22 file in the /boot directory.
Is this an uncompresses kernel image? Why is it there
Have a question relating to the file module-info-2.2.16-22 in /boot.
How is it compiled?
