I think its a combination of inferior components and poor design. The
receiver is quite sensitive, but not very selective and overloads easily. You
would be better off dropping some GE or /\/\ boards in it.

How many cavities do you have for 500kc split? A transistor pa with 1
meg takes at least 4 to run 40 watts, this is a split site? Is your
antenna a shunt style?

I doubt if this can be used anymore as the spectrum is narrow band, if
this is 4 or 5 plus years old it may be moved to ham band?

Got it working Virden. Thanks for help. You confirmed it was single pair
audio, so it was simple matter tracing cable with standard telco signal tracer.

Unfortunately, even when you bought a MIB new from Motorola, the
documentation that came with it did not contain a schematic.
MIBs are almost non-existant these days. Does anyone have a MIB
schematic they are willing to share?

I'm looking for a manual for a VHF Mostar, the display version is best
but the NVR version will work too. I can pay via PayPal, cashiers
check.
Thanks in advance,

Either you really like the under-dog, or you crave attention. This issue had
been going on for MANY years. There is NO WAY that Spectrum could NOT know of
their reputation. (Which ranks at about the same level as Genave FM gear & the
early Regency gear)

I have recently acquired a Regency
Repeater. I know nothing about it and am looking for any information or
manuals. The crystals will need to be changed for GMRS use
(462.550).
It says: FCC DATA: Regency UHF

What is the difference between above and a

Has anyone had any success or failure in using a 60 watt Mitrek for a repeater
on a 500 kHz seperation?
Should I use two seperate Mitreks for TX / RX to prevent internal desence?
Should I reconsider my frequency pair and use a 1 MHz?
In my installation, the radio will be on a tower in a cabnet les

No, it doesn't-just program it and tune it up. No mods.

Use a butt set and ring out the lines - you should hear your audio going
in and out from the unit. Of course without manuals for each layer of
components you are going to be doing a lot of guessing what they really
are for, and troubleshooting will be very embarrasing.

And while we're bashing different manufacturers of repeater equipment,
there's at least one controller out there that is a real dog. Been several
revisions to it, but it stays a dog.
Need we go on about antennas.
Would Spectrum take you to court?

Gee, they could have had a Genave...
Back in the late 70's both Gatesville, N5DDR/R, and Lampasas, W5GFR/R
bought Spectrum 2M repeaters. Gatesville had a phone patch, and
Lampasas was stand alone. Both used single antenna, and WP641
duplexers. Lampasas is dead. Gatesville is still running with
