It's very true that site prices can be widely different, especially depending on what you're putting up. At one time my work used to pay $1.00 a month for our main transmitter site. Then the old story of site management change came into play and they wanted more money of course. We are now

KG4LNE has a great solution coming for those pesky eproms. Check out
the link below.
I have 3 radios ready to use it when it is complete.

Ok, I see what is going on. Life is going to be alot easier on you if

That sounds like the antenna relay control line. Yes - it needs to be
connected to the amp and should be connected to the large board on the
It's not just one component that might need to be

determining the value of the components to be changed, but also what their
respective temperature coefficients must be. Perhaps the best course of

I'm looking for a Motorola publication called the R56 Handbook,

Hi..
Recently, the repeater i was maintaining was hit by lightining. The
whole antenna was gone, and our turbo fans were fried..
However, luckilky, all the radios are still on..
I've changed the RX antenna, the pre-amp and the lightning arrester.
However, when we tested, between two points,

Did you test/inspect the feedline? Arc-over within the coax isn't uncommon,
and can leave resistive pathways between center and shield that translate
into high loss and/or high VSWR. Center pins on connectors are often burned
or vaporized in a good strike.
Is the new Rx antenna and exact
Fred,
Since you imply that this is a two-antenna system without a duplexer, the
only item that you have not changed is the RX antenna feedline. Before
assuming that it might be defective, use a TDR test set to sweep the cable.
Also check any jumpers or adapters that may be in the receive path.

I use Bomar and have had really good luck with them. Order your receive

Do you have any baseline sensitivity measurements like a 12 dB SINAD
point on the original setup? Hard to say if your receiver is still
as sensitive as it once was if you don't have anything to
