Thanks for all the fast replies. The only hitch in my idea is
finding a voip or voice client for the blackberry that is not
designed to make cheapy phone calls, but that can work like a walkie
talkie, either full duplex or half duplex.

I can call anyone in the USA and Canada with my Magic Jack. I am assuming it
works the same way from Canada. Check out their web site to be sure. You
must have a reliable high speed internet connection for it to work good. I
have dumped my $51 a month landline and now use MJ as my home phone. I
