That would be great! This is currently only possible with the
development version from subversion, I will make a public release "soon"
which supports translations.

spec'ed first - I want this format to be

Hm, odd - maybe you're using an older version of intltool or something,
because here it was complaining that it couldn't find the source file
encoding until I added that line.

Will do, thanks! I've only just started on the basic interface, and
progress might be slow as I don't have alot of spare time for hacking,
and I'm trying to do it "right" this time with writing unit tests etc
for everything.
