I think you can only get SBS to treat them the same if you go back to an
earlier version of SBS, say, 7.5.x or earlier. SBS 7.6.x introduced
stricter case-sensitivity in handling of tags/metadata. Of course, the
preferred solution is to correct your tags and be done with it.

Robin Bowes' program flac2mp3.pl is a Perl script that does exactly what
you're looking for. Earlier versions did not embed album art in the

by album seems obvious to me. It's easy to add
replaygain to your whole library with tools like foobar2000, Winamp,
apply_replaygain.pl (all free) or dBpoweramp (not free, but worth it
imo). Just start it running and come back when it's done.

Besides there being few applications that write tags for .wav, there
really aren't any generally-accepted wav tagging standards. So even
after you put tags in the wav files, you can't be sure that the app
playing the files will read the tags the way you intended.

Did you make sure that your tag types are kosher? FLAC files should only
have FLAC tags (actually Vorbis comments), and not any ID3v1 or ID3v2
tags. This will be shown in the Tag column (tag_read).

Use mp3tag to see if you have multiple tag types in that file. If so,
use mp3tag to delete the tag types you don't want. For FLAC files you
should only have Vorbis comments, and for MP3 you should have only
ID3v2.3. Sometimes ID3v1 and/or Ape tags get into the mix and confuse
SBS.

I could be wrong, but that's the impression I get from the documentation
and perusing the comments in the code. So yes, you would have to correct
a filename typo twice (one in FLAC, once in MP3) instead of just once.
As noted, corrections to tags are done automatically.
