Hi All
I just gave 777 access permissions to all the users to the /home
directory and all it's subfolders and their contents and now RN works!
Thank you

You need the cut in there twice, one set to 21:00-2359 and one set 00:00
to 17:59
which is a pain.
You need a simple scheduling prog for ads

No worries, it's here to stay. I've actually got some CentOS 6 boxes on the
air for testing at selected sites now. Very solid system, with *much* better
support for touchscreens

It all depends on your overall goals
Be aware that this is Rivendell 1.7.something and Ubuntu 10.04. Its due for an
update. I've looked at the authoring built into Ubuntu and it looks quite a
simple process whereby you install as normal, install what you need (riv from
the repos in this case) and then run the tools.

Was no big issue to work around.

Thanks, I suspected that was the answer.
Not that the storage will be a problem, but this will actually make a
second copy of the audio in /var/snd, right? or will it just make a
symlink (is that the right term..?)

The daypart times can't pass midnight.
What I would do is duplicate the cut inside the cart.
Its very easy hit the copy button inside the cart ... then hit the Add
button and then Paste button to paste the cut into the new cut
position.

The logmanager schedules the not-playable cart. It shows in red, and
it's skipped when put on air. Maybe it's me...

Thanks for that tip, Wayne.
For the record, we are FAR from rich ... this card is on loan to us from a
broadcast organization that is friendly to our cause. We couldn't ever
afford one of these cards on our own!

I've never been rich enough to afford the ASI cards but from memory you
have to have the drivers in place before you do the ./configure in the
Rivendell source.
If the configure summary doesn't say Yes before you do the make I don't
think it will work.
I also have no idea if you have to do s

We were able to stay on the air despite our CentOS blowing up on us because

Stephan,
Thanks for your response. It was this very Paravel install that I've just
about given up on. YES it is a relatively easy install, our favorite part
of it was the auto detect on the sound card :-).
My least favorite things about it:
I don't understand it well enough to be in control. I

That did the trick in 10.04.

Hi Robert (and others),
Thanks for the advice. I have done some experiments along the lines you
suggested, but have to say it doesn't really do what I want, to the extent I
want. It works (after a fashion) when applying only one or two scheduler
codes, but doesn't cut it when trying to
