Easiest way I know to convert from ogg to wav is oggdec. You can even
say oggdec *.ogg and it will do the right thing (don't try that with
lame --decode).

I think there is command line options with Audacity to speed this process up.
But an even easier option to spit out wav files from just about

I just realized another workaround may be Audacity. It can import various
formats, including .ogg files and export them as .wav or .mpX which
Rivendell will digest.
I'll try this next time I have an .ogg file to use.

I was just now having this problem on XUbuntu 12.04 (but it was with
the repositories) with the web uploader. It imports a couple seconds
of the ogg and nothing else, even though Rivendell logged the full
length of the ogg instead of the length that was imported.
My suggestion is to use FFMPEG (in

At first I thought it wasn't getting imported; it is, but the so

Cool, I'll try that! Thanks very much.
I believe that the CentOS version in the Broadcast appliance is 5.x and not
6. Maybe it's not a big difference, but for a couple of things I tried
(utilities to install, mostly to administer discs), they would only work on
CentOS 6+ and not 5.

I'm no Power User either -- hell, I'm barely a night-light user -- but would
this be of any help?

I'm FAR from a power user, but recently I had the same problem with .ogg
files. When importing them, RDLibrary showed their length as a full 59
mins. However, upon playing them I only ha

Thanks Alessio,
Can someone reproduce (or not) the problem without debian/ubuntu packages ?

Well, while I'm in the posting mood...
At some point in the future do you think it would be possible to add a
feature to "copy hour", and/or at the very least "copy day" in the log Grid?
Long story, but our group LMA's a LOT of stations. When we first
construct a station, we basically place an

Unbelievable.
Since its possible to fit a QRP AM transmitter inside a tuna can, just how
small can we now make a fully functional radio studio/station?
Boggles the mind, it does...

If I import an wav format, and export to Ogg/Vorbis, the created Ogg
file is invalid :
$ ogginfo test-exported.ogg
Processing file "test-exported.ogg"...

Try to export OGG/VORBIS from RDXport and re-import it.. Does it

Hi all,
By testing Rivendell 2.2.0 debian/ubuntu packages, I've been unable to
import "completely" ogg files. Example :
A smart test.ogg file. According to vorbisinfo :
Total data length: 9303586 bytes
Playback length: 4m:18.360s
Average bitrate: 288.081313 kb/s
rdimport MUSIC test.ogg returns
Same for me. Each Rivendell machine is a clinet mysql and NFS. Another
one without Rivendell on it hosts everything.
All Rivendell workstation are Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 LTS (server edition
with just "gnome-core" on) and Rivendell comes from Tryphon
repository.
