End of the story.
I did something I am not proud of... but does its job.
I started with a basic Debian Wheezy setup, but I added sid repository in
apt's sources list.
Problem is recursive dependencies... so I had to tweak a bit with apt's
preferences and pinning repositories.
So I took xorg metapac

Check syslog. If SELinux is denying a resource, it will normally complain
about it there.
Cheers!

Here what I tried...
- Debian Wheezy.. then upgraded to sid... in Sid touchscreen works great.
- Compiled everything from sources.. basically following this guide:
http://rivendell.tryphon.org/wiki/Debian_6_Install_Rivendell_2.1.1_from_Source
- I just took QT3 from Tryphon repositories... compiled
what distro do you use now, what setup (server / workstations or pc)
what is your host setup and what user installed RD compared to the user

I tried anyway to add that line as Rick suggested, but problem still exists.
Interesting... and sad at the same time.

Smells like a permissions problem. A common issue I've noted with
I can't do any other test because I had to format the system.
Anyway, as you Fred asked, it didn't create any wav file. /var/snd was
empty, even though by rivendell point of view it was correctly imported (it
took less than a second).
Tonight I try with Xubuntu 12.04 with "Proposed updates" and man

one extra issue, I have a note the 00:00 duration once also came up when

I can perhaps set you up Allesio, I run Rivendell on Debian Wheezy,
during installation from the Tryphon Repo on the workstations I had to
solve many bugs. On the workstation that does the data entry I had the
00:00 duration , this particular error was solved by installing
rivendell-server from
Hi Geoff,
I perfectly agree with you... It's not for production purpose.
Basically a friend of mine wants to do live shows with his laptop. He's so
confident with Rivendell that asked me to configure his laptop like stand
alone Rivendell station.
His laptop is a beautiful Sony Vaio Pro (last gener
Hi Alessio
Are you sure that you want to run Rivendell on Debian Sid? Sid is
generally the Testing version of Debian and can produce interesting
results with any software.
If you were planning in implementing Rivendell at your station a
Stable version would be a best bet.
All the best

Just to add info: deleting is ok (apache works)... only import is the
problem (apparently it says it succeeded, but it didn't) in reality.

Hi everybody,
anyone has tried Rivendell on Debian Sid? I tried even using Tryphon .deb
and compiling it by myself.
It seems that compiling is better... Even though I can't import files...
The strange thing is that "rdimport --verbose MUSIC ../../file.wav" says
"...done". From its point of view eve
