Thanks, Dirk.
I've been accomplishing that for a long time but it involved multiple
dependent checks and an overly complicated configuration to make it happen.
This will VASTLY simplify my check configuration!

Dirk,
I want to add to all my checks (430 of) a new webpage as I have an alert
page for our operators and wish to have a more detailed technical page for
the support guys. I can do a global replace, but not a global add.
Please can you advise the best course.
Regards
Paul

Hello,
I recently downloaded Servers Alive version 4 and after installing it on my Windows 2000 Pro machine and starting the application I get the following :

For what it's worth, I uninstalled the program, deleted the Salive

reinstalled, and then I got the correct version.

Yes, but that requires two things: first, you have to have someone
logged onto the console, and second, the account logged into the
console has to have "lower permissions" than yours, so to speak. For
example, if one of my admins logs in and tries to control my console
session on one of my web ser

Even though it is regular terminal services it does allow you to connect
to the already running windows (console) session.

I am running it on Win 2003 box. I am doing crc checking on my web
pages as well as custom tcp port stuff. I also am doing your typical
ping, ftp, smtp, pop3 checking. It works fine. I send alerts via ICQ,
email, AOL (using Mark Bradshaw's aol perl script), winpopup, restart
service and server.
It's not a "real" remote desktop - it's the same Terminal Services
protocol and setup as Windows 2000, so when you're running SA as a
service, you don't always see the icon in the tray.
SA seems to work fine, though.

Make sure that the application and the Servers Alive service are NOT running

Also the upgrade will upgrade within the first directory that contains a

I tested it running on Win2K3 but never via a TS session.
IF the TS session is a real remote desktop then it should work.
Keep us updated on the results.
We (Woodstone) are also planning some more tests with it on Win2K3, but I
think that it will be something for middle of next week.

I am testing as we speak. More to come today

Hey Dirk,
Got a question. Does SA run under Windows 2003 Server? The reason I ask is
we are going to upgrade a couple of servers to W2003 to get familiar with it
and I thought the SA server would be a great one to start with. Plus
Windows 2003 Server allows Terminal Serving into the console se
