I use
Kiwi Syslog along with Servers Alive, and it has an archive function that is
programmable. I use it to move the log files to another drive (huge
cheap storage) where they collect until the "Big Corporate Backup" happens, at
which point they are deleted.

We will add some kind of "scripting" to the SNMP check, were it will be
possible to do "calculation" on the SNMP response when doing the compare

Hi, I have this question and possibly feature request.
Basically, I'd like to do some form of scripting on the SNMP response
string or any response string in general. A use of variables would be
nice, if I could assign a response to a variable and use it some where

Try this - it is an old DOS dialer and terminal program. It is free.
I used to use it in the good old days. It has, built into it, a very strong scripting language that is well documented.

Good guess, but alas the Remote dial in unit is old and is set manually
with no communications interface. I'll try doing something with
HyperTerminal.
Thanks

Hi All,
Need some ideas here if I may. We have a hardware Firewall that's now in
the habit of locking up regularly requiring a reboot to bring back up.
We've placed a remote power on/off controller in the line of the
firewall so we can dial in, send a code and turn off/on the power. I

Those
errors can not be generated by some kind of "corruption", those errors are real
authentication errors. I'm sure that they will come back in the correct
"situation".
