The only potential problem is if the shaft is installed via the traditional Ping slammed and crushed ball bearing method. No amount of heating and twisting will get the head off. Most of us have removed heads from Ping putters by cutting the shaft near the hosel and drilling out the bearing, I

If the shaft is truly a flare tip the head has a pegthat fits into the shaft tip. To reshaft you either grind down the peg to fit into the new shaft you can also cut the new shaft just above the first step and see if the peg will fit, if not cut at the next step. Cutting the shaft is a better

The UST Frequency Filtered shaft has no step or taper, so Iwill make the ‘peg’ fit hopefully nice and tight. Just rotate the peg against the running belt on your belt sander. Rotate as you would a ferrule. Belt spins down - peg spins up! That way the peg remains round. Keep checking the
