time--does anyone know of a particular site that is really good ?? thanks, Lois

Hi Lois,
I checked out oleolux as I had never heard of it before. It looks good but
I would sorely miss butter as I like the sweet taste of it on things like
whole grain hot cereals and I have to be careful with onions and garlic as I
have turned up a food sensitivity to them in the past. I'm
I use expeller coconut oil (from tropical traditions). The coconut smell
and taste literally is intolerable to me, though I used the virgin CO
for years, suddenly one day I could no longer gag it down, and the smell
of it for cooking gagged me too. I never did actually like it though.
sol
tropical traditions has the best coconut oil in my opinion, I have been
buying from them for years.

Just curious...does everyone who uses coconut oil for cooking enjoy
coconut-flavored fries, coconut-flavored chicken, etc.?

Nope. I stopped cooking with it for that reason. I use it as a skin
moisturizer now. If I could find some that had no taste/smell I would cook
with it.

That's been my problem too. I like the flavor in some things, but not in items
that haven't traditionally had it. I wish there was a tasteless variety that
retained the healthful qualities of the virgin CO but I haven't found it.

Elizabeth..I can't stand coconut but I use Nutiva brand coconut oil
for cooking, eating and moisterizing and have no problem with a strong
coconut odor. When I first open the jar, there is a faint whiff of
coconut, but that is it. Lola

No, but the best online deal on VCO is the 54oz Nutiva at Swanson's
Vitamins. That's where I get mine. Great quality, good mild taste for
cooking or eating on toast. Léna

Even though I like the flavor of coconut generally, I like the more
neutral taste of Nutiva's VCO, as there are so many other subtle
flavors in foods I'd don't want to overshadow with a heavily-coconut
flavored oil. just my 2¢.
Be well,

I have also just tried Barleans Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and found it had a
very mild/subtle taste. I would buy it again.

Nope. I stopped cooking with it for that reason.
We used to make very good coconut oil with no heat when we lived in the
Philippines.
Here in the US we buy from wildernessfamilynaturals.com. They have a good
choice of different processes of coconut oil. If you want taste = go for the
traditional process with heat or no heat. For
