Yesterday my husband woke up with a red swollen eye lid. We washed the eye out
and have been spraying it with CS. Anyone had any results with things of this
nature? It seems much worse this morning.

It sounds like it might well be a bug bite.
Although CS won't work on any bite toxin, taking
CS internally would deal with a secondary
infection.
