Yes I would presume so. Most organics, if they have a charge, are
negative. And because they are made of large complex molecules can be
positive at one point and negative at another.
I should think that the charge, if it exists, and if it effects

some plain distilled water through it, which you would discard, then
filtering the CS? You'd at least get the worst of the solubles out of
it before it contacts the product.

Only filter if needed (very cloudy product). I have had bad results
with filtered CS via coffee filters. Not so with my commercial filter
of 0.2um, so I suspect chemicals in the filter paper. Proper filter
paper is available at lab supply outlets.

batch was filtered with 1 white coffee filter. The CS solution turned
cloudy. Thought that I had grabbed a glass that might have had detergent in

I cut 4 quadrates, each foldet twice to a triangle and put into a glass
funnel. I never had problems. The paper seems clean enough.
