Not. Godaddy.com will register a domain for $9 a year, and you can set up a
SRV record on it.

My understanding is that to use srv records you need a dedicated server
not a shared server that most web hosting companies provide. Which is
expensive for the home user, one web hosting company quoted a price of
$99 / month.

Agreed. Kinda fun when it "tells" you it's IP too. I'm trying to convince

Hey guys
I have been trying to resolve this can not connect issue concerning the

be a srv issue with a cheap web hosting provider. I have researched

Legacy phones will simply not download 3.2.X firmware. This is Polycom
BootROM behaviour.
On the sipXecs side, the config files generated for these models are
compliant with Polycom 3.1.3RevC. (The latest 3.1.X.)
If that's true, how will we deal with a mixed environment of phones?

I will implement this some time next week. Also, if this patch causes
things to go haywire, will force-upgrading the original 4.0.2 sipxbridge
RPM restore the original binaries that this patch replaces?

later release? It appears that Polycom has implemented fixes to some
enhanced BLF issues I

Thanks for your answers.
The source of the problem was eventually some obscure IP-stack problem
on the secondary machine. Even though the machine seemed to operate
correctly, it rejected incoming SIP packets therefore the clients felt
that the failover was not successful. Restarting the machine so

I don't even know what CUBE is. :-) The setting that works for our Cisco
ISDN gateways is a dial peer that redirects numbers in the SipX user
number range back to the SipX. Otherwise
Not to turn this into a Cisco design discussion, but can you send me a link
to configuring Cisco CUBE's to support REFER messages? The only thing I've
seen so far, is a reference to TCL IVR scripts that are referenced from the
dial-peer. That seems like massive overkill for a simple problem.
