I have three dfe530tx's (link 10/100s)
ive got them to work with via-rhine before
however these are "b1" revision cards with
WOL capability.
They are reported as via unknown devices with lspci
or cat /proc/pci
freebsd also doesnt recognise them either and ive
used previous revisions of the card
via-rhine just doesnt find them. any other cards
work fine.
replacement is not an option
I've had the same trouble.
Replacement becomes the only option :(
Why do you need those cards? There are many other better ones with same
features

Try the latest driver from Donald Becker maybe? Unknown IDs means
they've modified the chip again. Maybe it's not Via-Rhine

Thats what i suspect, most annoying considering the machine
is for a dlink
For Tel$stra you must set up your NIC for DHCP which then it gets an IP and
then you run the Tel$stra profile program which enables your connection (
which i assume rp-PPoE does).
But I can't even get an IP yet alone get PPoE to work.. it keeps connecting
and then dropping out..
I think the

err, no.
ppp does all the authentication and IP
Well funny enough, my NT box which Telstra couldn't get to work finally
works. DHCP was giving us grief and now it suddenly gets a 192.168.0.1 IP
(not my original IP either) and now authenticates fine and connects via
their software...
So what do I put in
Im using rp-pppoe-2.3, with no problems what so ever. After downloading it,
I had it working in less then 5 min. (Downloaded it via win2k, then ftp'ed
it accross)
All IP's in the machine at static, are you using the correct username? Are
you doing it like user@bigpond ?

I'm using dvilj and dvilj4 on some of the lilypond documentation and
output and finding that it does not draw the joins between quavers, etc.
Is this a problem in my latex installation (i.e. do I need to upgrade

3. /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf has

me off for a while..
Damn things...

The rpm code has moved from version 3 to version 4
I need to get some rpm's installed on a box with rpm v3, but the rpm's I
want are v4. Even the source code rpm.*.src.rpm is v4 so I can't upgrade
my rpm to install v4 rpms.
Bugger.
Suggestions?
