Hi, I have a linux box which is hanging when it boots up. At this stage I am not as to why this has happened (hardware or software) but I am trying to work out what to do. I watch it go through the boot sequence and when it gets to the point where should give me a login prompt is just stops. So

G'day, Explanation Got a cron job which runs @ 7pm every week night to backup folders in /home/shares (smb shares). When run manually (/etc/cdbackup) everything works fine, and the CD burns with the right datestamps on the tar files. The cron job does run, cause theres an eject /cdrom line
