The documentation states that I can change the port number of the
built-in administration server but I am unable to find a link to change

I am Trying to get RedHat 7.2 to boot from the CD on a Toshiba Satilite 2710 Series
laptop.
The CD will boot ok on the desktop pc but not on the laptop. The laptop has a
cd-rom/dvd drive.
Has anyone had and solved this problem?

I want to install Redhat 7.2 on a laptop. When configuring X Windows,
the probe finds the SIS 630 chipset fine but cannot determine the LCD

I ran into a problem with GDM on my office Linux server yesterday and ended
up reinstalling it. I am now getting a problem when I try to connect with
X-Win32. I can see the machine in the list of xdmcp hosts but after I select
this machine, the RedHat logo starts to display then the session fails.

I am having trouble with the syntax of using Gnu tar to do the following.
This is a simplified example of the real problem but maybe it will help.
The tape archive has a structure like this:
dir1/dir2/file1
dir1/dir2/file2
dir1/dir2/file3
...
dir/1/dir2/file999
Some of these files are very larg
hem back together again, I got the problem I originally
reported.

Thanks for your help. I finally gave up and upgraded from 6.0 to 6.2 of
RedHat, which of course solved the problem. If it happens again, I'll try
your suggestions.
The main symptom was that I never got the GDM login after rebooting. If I
did startx from root, it worked okay.

Also, Netscape 4.73 does not have an option for Big5 encoding. I'll look

to continue to use gdm but will change to xdm, as suggested, but only if
