I have done the same thing but used the testing kernel-2.6.4 and only need the updated hotplug deb. But the other trick is/was that 2.6 doesn't use /etc/modutils but /etc/modprobe.d The only thing I haven't got working is my pctel winmodem I just used backports to get the tools and

Hi All, Anyone know a good resource for upgrading a woody box to the 2.6.x kernels? I installed a backported 2.6.4 (from backports.org) and now a bunch of stuff is either broken fatally or throwing errors. The /etc/init.d/networking script wont work - ifup and dhclient both complain about
