apt-get install dos2unix returning the error
"Couldn't find package dos2unix"
means, presumably, that I have to find a source.
Can anyone suggest one, please?

When I mentioned this to a friend he sniffed and mentioned Tyrannosaus rex.
Can anyone tell me what the latest command is, please? While you're doing

It seems to have disappeared. I now use (on Ubuntu) the package
'tofrodos'. The two programs are
fromdos [ options ] [file...]
todos [ options ] [file...]

I'm using Maverick on my desktop machine where dos2unix is in universe.
I looked for it on one of my servers (which runs Lucid) and it was not
there.

Many thanks to those who replied to my enquiry on dos2unix.
Reason for the enquiry: I have a .txt file that I wish to edit using Elvis.
However, line endings when one saves a dos file to txt are inconsistent .I
was told dos2unix would fix this. I'm using the latest Ubuntu. Even so,
