Anyone out there have any practical experience with the SD8000? I would
like to hear how it performs, Launch, Thermal, Speed qualities.
Thanks

Brett,
The DAW FW 190 is the 'D' varient which isn't a radial. The 190D had
the same in-line engine as the ME-109. It was an early version of kit
bashing that was done when the radial engines were in short supply, that
resulted in a much more effective FW...

FWIW, the DAW Fw-190 seems to fly pretty much the same as his P-51. If the Mustang is
faster, it's not by much, in my experience.
I think if you choose a model that has a big spinner up front, like the Fw or the Sea
Fury, you'll be okay. It's too bad that USN
WW2 planes did not have spinners.
Heh. Actually, I like the Sea Fury because, although it's a radial, it has that
big-ass spinner in the front to keep it somewhat
aerodynamic. Also, it has a fairly long tail and nose moment that would seem to make
it a perfect shape for PSS (I think it

I agree very much with Bill Swingle. An epp model with large amounts
of drag at the nose will require ballasting to penetrate and will
probably fly like a dog. Also, with ballasting to overcome drag, even
on a heavier wind day, you might as well be flying a fiberglass model
at that point.
