Has a "Tx & Rx Frequency Checker" that is exactly what I've been looking
for. It's compact and reasonably priced. Sadly, it's for the 35Mhz band and
I need 72Mhz!
Does anyone know of a similar device or frequency counter which will work
for 72megs?

problems with your receiver such as a bad crystal. This can happen from a hard landing.
The plane may look OK and fly Ok but the crystal may stop ocillating and cause a crash
as these crystals are fragil. Also
Hi Ray,
Some good points you bring up. Clubs puting on contests should warn the entrants about
where to fly or not to fly. Eg. across freeways or busy streets, busy parks with lots

Knowing how abrupt TD landings are I think I'll be

I'd like to suggest that it would be nice to keep park fliers on 27Mhz and
49Mhz.
This should not be pursued through the FCC! But rather as a gentlemen's
agreement in the industry. I only wish I had a clue how to go about doing
it.

I have to agree with Don Stackhouse--the answer is not to ban park flyers,
but to bring those folks into our clubs. We used the safety and
interference argument here in Columbus to get the City to allow us to fly
electrics at our sailplane field. (We had previously been banned from
