The Stalker Pro uses a tuning fork as well, and was calibrated before we
used it for the day. Coincidently We had two guns on this particular set
of runs. Both were giving similar results when shooting from the same
vantage point. We've been experimenting with moving around to the side

Bruce,
As an "RC turbine boy", I can tell you that the AMA prohibits
all speed and racing events for turbine powered aircraft. And I
don't think that there are any FAI class/records for turbine
models. The AMA says that "red-line" for jets is 200 mph,
self policed by the pilots.
How fast? Fair
Well today at Grand Rapids (Michigan soaring League) contest it was a 2 or
10 day. Lot's of 1.5 mins, a few 10's, the masters rule in this air and
sandbagging is an acquired art.
Come an join us for some really challenging air (check the MSL web sire on

Seven rounds with a total time of ninety-two minutes (yep, that's 92

Yes the man speakeh the truth. I flew my E4 in a TD contest
today and although it was a 2 or 10 day I did feel much better after round five
than round one. I have not flown the plane much so do not know how to compensate
for turbulence and what is really up air. The point is, hours count, not
CD Alden Shipp was a task master today and made us fly 92 minutes today at
the MVSA Gateway Open, can you believe the gall, even a 20 minute flight was
in there. We flew seven rounds today and there was no sandbagging on time
limited open winches as Alden was going and finding guys at the end of t
I thought is was sporting of Gordy to mention that a "GENIE" outdid him and
his Pike today at a contest at Mt. Vernon, Wash. If Russ Young was the
pilot, he is not flying a GENIE, but the GENIE LT/S, the light and smaller
version. 80 oz??? No way. If Russ finished his 2nd one, I suspect it would

I couldn't resist passing this on. I hope Loren doesn't mind. People need to
know about this LT/S thermal machine as Gordy puts it, from someone besides
me.

How do we stand up the slimer community or those RC turbine boys in speed records? Anyone know how fast they go?

I am trying to get a hold of Jim Redden of Versailles, Kentucky about his
Nats entry. I have called and e-mailed with no response. If anyone who knows
him and has seen him, tell him to contact me ASAP.

Today we flew in Mt Vernon Washington and the weather was gorgeous. Light winds huge
open fields and T generators everywhere...and yet it was easy to get skunked on a
flight time!
Talk about a cast of talent! These guys are some of the toughest precision pil
