After careful scrutiny of his voucher, it gives me great pleasure to
announce that Merrill Brady is officially the League of Silent Flight's

I'm puzzled. The often seen excitement over new radios seems surprising. How
many radios do you guys own? Once I moved up to a radio that met my needs
I've not seen any reason to get excited over the new radio offerings.
What I'm waiting to hear about is a newly designed radio that is
OK, I get it and I remember... 8-)

Actually, this new 9303 is fairly exciting to me. I like the software
design a lot, and the price performance ratio. I don't have a back up to
my 10x, that would be a lot of $$$ to be sitting in reserve. I am doing a
write up at the moment... give me a moment or two and you will get some

What radio are you currently using? I'm using an 8103 and the 9X. I'm
about to leave to pick up my 9303. The thing that I most want is flight
modes and the ability to do a 6 wing servo glider without doing a bunch
of crazy mixes.

I've got a 3030 and for 2 or 3 years I've been pleased with it. It does
every thing I want so I have no reason to look for another.
So please don't anyone tell me what it won't do. Right now my ignorance is
bliss and I don't want that ruined. Obviously, I
Well I have seen this radio, and if you relish software to meet your
specific sailplane needs, then the 9303 is the one.
I would hazard to say without equivocation that this is the best thing
to address sailplane specific programming tasks since the well respected

Dang it, I made a mistake when I typed that out, but it does what you want.
What I meant to say is you make the settings for the flight modes CRUISE
and LAND identical, and then it doesn't matter if you throw the switch or not.
It will do what you want here! 8-)

Ok, so I got an ACE Olympic V AM Tx and narrow band Rx in a deal on an
airplane. Batteries are new and good. Stickers show a check up in 2002.
Ace radios were pretty reliable I guess. How much should I trust this old
system? (It was factory built and the previous owner is a long time flyer

The 10x will do it.
If you want to have reverse differential in your landing flight mode on the
9303, you can.
However, I don't use it with my setup.

I have a simpler method. I go out to the shop, locate my servo cover
Good point. I hate trying to clean my radio. Takes a lot of Q-Tips.
I guess the chrome would be cool under the sun?

I think you are correct about the 9303, but you give too much credit to
JR. The credit goes to Horizon Hobbies.
Graupner made the MX22 a 10-12CH pretty dam flexible version of the
9303, JR then release the 9x to the rest of the world and the
programming was very disappointing and inadequate. I
