Well I got some 2oz cloth (it was either that or 5 oz at the hobby shop) and
put it on. I am not sure I did it right, though. I did both sides of the
fuse from nose to F3 (halfway between the TE and the tail). I used 3m77 to
hold the cloth down and then mixed some 15min epoxy and thinned it w/

I'm building a Salto (Viking fuz, glass wings by Del Brengmann, etc) and
I want to glass bag the tails myself. Since they're plugin parts, I need
to install joiner tubes.
What is the best way to do this?
I see potential problems with alignment, damage to the cores (boy, is
that stuff sensitive
Frank , ( or anybody else for that matter ) don't use Monocote over fully
sheeted wings, Ultracote, Oracote is much , much easier to learn to work
with. With lots and lots of practice you can learn to do beautiful covering
jobs with Monocote , but it takes a lot of time to master. As far as what
I made my first attempt at glassing a wing over
Thanksgiving weekend, with very poor results. Due to brain failure, I got
lacquer thinner on the cores and ruined them. The area that did not get
thinner on it became my practice subject.
I used one layer 4oz cloth with Aluzine epoxy from

resin were applied. When you put glass on a model the purpose is to add
strength and second to give a smooth base for paint.
The first rule when you apply glass with epoxy is don't use any more resin
than is needed to stick t
I've been rebuilding an old 60" sloper and
have run into a problem in glassing the fuse.
I know a vast number of the list members are
into composites and glassing so here is my
question:
I glassed the fuselage with a layer of 3/4 oz
glass according to the methods published
recently in MAN as wel
