my 5501-70 is still here, now aging and looking for a substitute. I hope it
won't die as well.

David,
I won't laugh at all. I am now leaving both pfsense and soekris and I am
building a RPI2 box just to this role. So far, so good. Till next weekend I may
have it running as backup router, and soon after the main one. Must be prepared
to change my 5501-70. The 6501-70 passed away first

I have a net6501-70 that suffers from the very same ill. Bought in late 2011,
boots whenever feels like.
Funny to know my 5501-70, I got before and used from eBay, still runs. Some
issues on cf slot, but all in all is fine.
I hope pc engines don't have the same thing with their boards.

"clear cmos" thing. But it is not that easy, and I don't want to make it worse
by breaking that thing. What is the lifetime of that battery?

Hi,
I'm new to soekris gear, just got one today. So I have a little situation
here when trying to boot from a Hitachi 6GB microdrive. It doesn't show

a Seagate 8GB microdrive instead.
I saw the changelogs
work fine. Seagate MD does not, just when using
OpenBSD.
