Same here FreeBSD with 10-20 jails effectively isolating services works

I find it useful in limited situations to run VNC. Mostly to keep a
desktop active with a variety of terminals or browsers going and
possible to share with multiple users simultaneously. I run it on a
headless machine (which does have a video card, though it's never been

I also have very much the same questions about the rackmount
availability and battery solutions which might be associated with it.

I just set built a 5501-70 with a sata drive and a lan1641 to use as a
firewall and simple router. Will be running PF under FreeBSD 7.1, and
I've pared down the kernel. The thing seems to be working well so
far, but I have not done a lot with it yet.
