Glad you mentionend Touch Ed. I stopped using Touch for a decade or so and
now I use it for as much as possible before committing to Houdini Maya or
Nuke.
It’s GLSL support is outstanding. I use Touch osc to present in no way that
PowerPointers could dream of. Greg and his team created such a wonde
heterogeneous
scene graph). It's about process.
I know you're not saying this, but it can't be all technical, Houdini
artist was an oxymoron for a while.
Thank you for the links Jonathan! I didn't know about some of these.

I prefer the new setup in CHOPs, but its still hard to *SEE* in one view
what's going on, so hopefully they move CHOPs along with everything else
into VOPs so we can make sense of it all in one place to change world local
space, geo, etc just like in ICE.

certainly try to keep old things around just hidden for backwards

Yes, very well. On various macbook pros over the last 5 years, I've
been running Soft on Bootcamp and Parallels (some viewport shaders
don't work in Parallels, so just switch to bootcamp when needed).
It's not complex to setup or run at all.

The decade plus old backplate update issue (why I needed to use SCOPs to drive
them, not ICE, which Softimage replicated in their stereo rig) I believe was
fixed recently, is perhaps why Soft 2015 matches Maya, dunno, I roll my own in
each and match, highly recommended.

And that might be the funniest reason to keep this list alive as it becomes the
best place to get Maya answers due to the community of the Softimage list.
And another top place to get Houdini answers, the Sidefx list has always been
very similar.

been a great place for a few of us to find talent.
A linked in XSI group to find each other for work and to continue threads if

There's a few tricks to get models to load in order to preserve
