I still since 1994 use softimage more or less everyday. Mostly for
conceptual visualizations and prototypes and finding it hard to get up to
speed with modelling in any other application, so i will continue with
Softimage as long as I can.

I do, every day, and I think 2 or 3 more guys in our office as well.
Others are on maya or houdini, moving slowly towards houdini, but it
is a slow process, and it is hard to learn it.
There are things I'd rather do in houdini, but xsi/ice still feels a
lot more intuitive..

LOL... did the same thing when I was translating 3D CAD files for
architectural work over
10 years ago. 3D Studio (not even MAX back then) would translate the files
perfectly for Softimage (pre XSI).

Well surely AD knows how many subscribers they had before deciding to
release Teh Kraken. Maybe asking Chris or Graham would be a good start. and
specify that we are looking for the number, before they started approaching
