Tony, I am just getting started on a similar project, but not in Canada. I'm assuming the 2" side of the 2x4 is the vertical? My guess is that if you position the sprinklers at the the 1-1/2" to 4" down and center them between the trusses, that is going to be about the best you are going to get

There are no NFPA 13 construction requirements. Yes, there are certain non-sprinkler pipe features that must get added when you choose a particular sprinkler solution. It's up to us to design the sprinklers for the building design not the other way around. In this case fill with insulation

Interestingly, TYCO CC1 is UL listed for Canada, but the CC2 is not. Also a Tyco rep. told me that for use in combustible concealed spaces, the piping to be used with the CC heads has to be "Tyco" Blazemaster, not any other make of Blazemaster. Anyone come across that? Tony -Original Message
