I was thinking about HiFi upgrades today in relation to playing vinyl. I
get a slight hum when nothing is playing but its not audible at all
when playing. For a micro second I

If one counts squeezelite software players, there are likely more LMS
users now than before Logitech dropped the hardware line over 10 years
ago.
That's a bold statement - which is hard to prove right or wrong.
Unfortunately I don't have any reliable number for LMS users.
I see a process Perl pop-up in Activity Monitor when LMS starting up but
this disappears the moment it stops again.
Can you try from a terminal window?
/Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/server/slimserver.pl
Would that crash, too?
DSP is also smth that is popular and some producers have made it quite
easy. The LMS variant of DSP seems to be quite inconsistent.

On thing I should add on UPnP: its not that the standard itself is that
bad, but the validation and certification is a joke. And a standard is
as good as its certification process. Specifying is hard and there is
always room for interpretation, even for thorough developers. In

Thanks for the effort!
What OS/glibc did you build it on? These binaries sometimes can be a bit
tricky to get right.

I reverted back to 8.2.1 and that starts up fine.

@mherger I've compiled Audio-scan 1.06 for Perl 5.32/ARM. Last time I
tried to do a pull request for 1.05 was a total nightmare so would you
like me to send the files to you? [emoji3]

I've found that several apps that ran under Win 7 require elevated
privileges on Win 10; EAC and CUERipper for instance.
My migration to Win 10 is pretty much complete, but not without
setbacks. Yesterday
Have a read about elevated privileges. In short although your user may
be an Administrator in Windows 10 there is still one higher authority.
When you do run as administrator you are invoking that higher
authority.

I tried to reproduce the error, but according to me its works.
If you look close, it can not download the newest release file.
What could case this, if there is not enough space on you're server.
