Has the OP tried putting the line -SLIMOPTIONS="--quiet"- in the file -/etc/default/logitechmediaserver- ? It should work with LMS 8.3.1, this option was fixed up a year or two ago, specifically with systemd in mind. Perhaps this should be a default setting for the Debian package.
