With the help of divine intervention (because I have no idea why) I got
7.9.0 - 1488878280 working in Container mode.
It even kept the settings after a restart. Hopefully it will even be
possible to update it in the future...

LMS isn't limited to 32 bits. We have support for several 64 bit Perl
versions. Would you know what version there is on a QNAP?

I'd try to install 7.7.2 QPKG. That should reinstall SSOTS, but I'm not
hundert percent sure about that.
Maybe I post my routines.sh later, and when it comes to that, the

Okay. Public looks fine. But stop trying to move the tgz in /tmp/. As
mentioned before it only fills up your flash memory.
Reboot the NAS to get back some space.
Then install 7.7.2 over package manager. The go the SSOTS way. From
outside all looks good and should run through without issues.

I understand you and feel with you.
As mentioned before, I had never any issues installing and/or upgrading
LMS on my QNAP. But I committed all those changes @'Man in a van' listed
to my system.
Maybe you'll give them a try, as soon as you aren't tired anymore. I'd
be glad to help you with it. :)

Reinstalled 7.7.2 and tried to install 7.9.0 instead.
Aborted due to previous errors. Tried freshly dnloaded 7.9.1 again. Same
error
And 7.7.2 corrupt again. Need to reinstall it again.

The aborted installation also removed the 7.7.2 LMS and the NAS fell
back to 7.9.0 in the container so I can at least play web radio and
Tidal. :)

Probably your QNAP ran out of flash memory since /tmp lies there. And if
your QNAP doesn't use HDA_DATA but CACHEDEV1_DATA as mountpoint for your
HDD, /share/HDA_DATA lies in flash, too.
With the symbolic link you avoid filing up the flash. But the move
command won't run through, either.

If WinSCP doesn't work for you or with you ;) take putty in SSH mode

I have now dnloaded Putty. I assume that I should use the PSFTP
application. I created "tmp" in /root. Dunno if that is correct, I'm not
a UNIX hack, although I did some Telnet stuff before the internet went
graphical, but that was a loong time ago.

With Filestation you can't see the complete stucture. It starts always
under /share.
Volume1 for example would be /share/HDA_DATA for me. For others ist
/share/MD0_DATA/.
The real path names depend, how you configured your harddrives, if you
have more than one.
I have two single internal HDDs, so

I might have seen those folders in the dialogue for choosing the media
folder, but can't see them even in File Station.
With the Netgear I could see all mumbo-jumbo folders, too. Where do I
find them on a QNAP?

Got 7.7.2 up and running, dnloaded and renamed the tarball to
squeezeboxserver-7.8.1-1504317335.tgz.
Stopped LMS in SSOTS and upgrade became available.
Started upgrade on SSOTS, upload the TGZ, press the "upload tarball"
button and I get an error: Connection terminated (in Swedish).

It seems that you now have two LMS running on your QNAP. 7.9.0 in a
Container. 7.7.2 on the QNAP itself.
7.7.2 can see your music folder and so you can see it too, while you
added the 7.7.2 library remote to your 7.9.0.
You'll need to export/import the path from your QNAP to your container.

Finished copying my music library to the QNAP and changed its network
address to the old LMS address (on the ReadyNAS).
Just for fun I shut down the ReadyNAS and reload the same LMS URL and
LMS starts. I check the version and it is 7.9.0 (my ReadyNAS has 7.9.1).

adapt SSOTS upgrade routine.
But if you already have 7.9.1 installed don't bother. But then I don't
really understand what answers you hopes to get.
