Hi All
I am new to squid and have just installed it on WhiteBox.
After struggling tremendously, I tried the squid client from the server on
which squid is installed, and saw it actually logging the request in
access.log
I eventually decided to change the port to 80 (the only change) and

you mentioned quite a while ago on http://squid.sourceforge.net/ntlm/

Dear all,
I am trying to figure out whether my squidguard starts when my squid

Too bad. As you tried different browser I am convinced that this is not

Hi All,
Is there a way to change the name of access.log to something like
access20041130.log, i.e., append to the end of the file name the year,
the month and the day?
Thanks in advance,
Carlos Eduardo.

Do you Yahoo!?
You have two choices. Set a hostname on the box (type "hostname
squid.my.domain" at the command prompt, or I'm sure ubuntu has a utility to
do so via GUI) or specify a hostname in the squid.conf file using the
"visible_hostname" directive. It would probably be best to set the hostname
on the box.
The problem continue
The error now is this:

Have you tried connecting from the Squid box (e.g. using wget or the like)?
Are you sure that you are not running an open proxy? Absolutely no offence
intended, but perhaps the site operators have blocked your Squid server's IP
for abuse. *shrug*

Use basic auth instead of NTLM.

Hello all
I need to do some tweaking for ntlm_auth for the
helper protocol squid-2.5-ntlmssp. If I want even the
IE 6.0 users to be authenticated manually by entering
their username/password and the domain how do I do it?
At the moment its transparent. Is there any way to get
it done?

RAID-1 is disk mirroring, which is safe for the cases one of disks fails.

Hello Squid-Users,
i was unable to find answers in faq/documentation/archives, but i may have
been searching wrong.
I would like to configure squid to allow only HTTP POST between two hosts.
This is for financial data transfer, and the program works with HTTP GET's.
Can anyone point me to an art

You do not want to do this...I saw someone say you wanted to be on the
same subnet; I wouldn't even do it that way if it were me. I would run
serial cable direct or I would run crossover cable directly to
interfaces.
Strange... On the network with the problem-Squid I tried to connect to
http://www.inpoc.no/ and checked the logs of Squid: nothing showing
there. Then I checked the firewall: There I DO see traffic coming from
www.inpoc.no and going to the Squid-machine...! :-?

Not necessarily. I copy the calamaris output each day,

Hmm, it's getting weirder here... Another Squid server I have access to
IS able to access the sites I mentioned... So somewhere in the first
server (or perhaps the firewall?) there is something funky going on...
The complication is that I don't really see a pattern in the sites it is
not able to
I noticed that clients of my Squid2.5Stable3
really use much more traffic than is recorded in access.log,
when they use method CONNECT.
However, with GET/PUT/... everything is ok.
Am I right?
Is there any patches/solutions I could try?
