Hello Leandro, Welcome to the sundial community. A three metre equatorial dial sounds ambitious, but the geometry is very simple compared with some dials. I hope we will be able to offer advice, so please post to the list anything you are unsure about. This could include such practical issues

Leandro, A three meters diameter equatorial sundial is a big size for a sundial! I placed a one meter diameter equatorial sundial on a square in the town where I am living, Hasselt in Flanders (Belgium). The pole-style, usually a rod, has been replaced by a slit in a wide strip of metal.

Hello, Willy, my compliments on the equatorial dial you made. It is elegant in its simplicity and especially in how well you used the materials...I can appreciate the details. Leandro, I used 12 rolled c channel for the rings of an 8'-9' diameter equatorial sundial that I once made...I can

Thanks Chris, I agree with you that this is an ambitious project but I forgot to tell that this is a long term project, now I just want to learn more and try to make smaller sundials. I have decided to make an equatorial sundial because in my view this is the better choice in my latitude, I

Hello Willy, I think that a 3 meters diameter sundial can be held by a good support or even put on the floor on a concave hole. Do you see any problem in a time ring with 3 meters of diameter? The little ball in the pole-style is interesting, depending the place you put it will make a shadow in

Dear Franz, Henry Moore`s sundials are really very good, they`re simple and at the same time impressive. I have visited your site before and it was very useful giving me ideas for my sundial, my first objective is to put the sundial at the floor in a concave hole, so the problem of overweight
