I have a problem with restoring a config file into a newly-rebuilt
machine (Alix 2d3) with v1.2.3, that causes the GUI to regularly complain
"XML error: no pfsense object found!"
and in general to require a full reboot before any GUI changes can be
applied, even though /cf/conf/config.xml is correc

And what happens if you press return a couple of times at this point?

It doesn't look like your problem is anything to do with console speeds.
You see the boot loader message from the Firebox BIOS, so you are at the
right speed for that. You see the FreeBSD bootup messages, so you are at
the right speed for that, and you see pfSense application startup
messages (whic

You can change that in the Alix BIOS -- connect at 9600, and boot up.
during the Alix memory test, press S to get the BIOS setup menu, choose

I'd add a question to that; do we need to bother with bogons any more?
Or should we just remove this feature?

If the computers in question are on the same subnet as the squid server,
then it is *possible* but I don't know how to configure it in pfSense.
If they are on a different subnet, then a

Not really; if you can ask the modem to port-forward to the pfsense box,
you can then ask pfSense to port-forward to the final destination.
So the public

I've been trying to understand some network speed tests today, which
started when I got a new ADSL connection that didn't appear to be
performing properly with speedtest.net -- I was getting ~1Mbps from
inside my network, instead of ~10Mbps that I get when connected directly
to the ADSL modem.
I'v
