power(watts) = potential(volts) * current(amps)
this is the same as yours which is expressed in joules...one watt is on

My calculations tell me it is about 6.1 kilowatts - but would really like this

l Watt = 3.412 BTUs
21,000 BTU / 3.412 = 6,1547 Watts = 6.1547 kW

You can't convert btu to kW (BTU has a time unit), but can convert to kWh.
BTU * 0.0002928 = kWh
Btu /min * 0.01757 = kW
