hi,
i haven't joined in this discussion but i think you may have some things
wrong below that was brought out much earlier in the discussion thread.
this is how it should be:
power(watts) = potential(volts) * current(amps)
this is the same as yours which is expressed in joules...one watt is on
man...you are quotable with that,
"...They don't
realize that all they are doing is arguing over who gets the first-class
rooms on the Titanic, while putting all their faith in the captain's
decisions."
but while most of us aren't as articulate as you here...deep down we all
know it and are hopi
not to sound cliche-ish but history is full of empires who have fallen
due to their own "success" (i.e. gred)...ours won't be any
different...if you think about it, we haven't come that far...instead of
beating and killing each other up for scarce resources like we used to
do, we're beating up
And Joe Kennedy buying the presidency for his son?

Andrew,
If you start like this, it becomes a not so pretty
picture. Joe Kennedy's involvement in the period
of prohibition or the current presidents grandfather's
involvement with Nazi Germany etc. etc.
The ancestors of presidents must have made money
on something, otherwise their grandchildre
Hello all
Anyone there that can convert for me 21,000 BTU's to KW?
My calculations tell me it is about 6.1 kilowatts - but would really like this

Yes, Garry, you are right.
l Watt = 3.412 BTUs
21,000 BTU / 3.412 = 6,1547 Watts = 6.1547 kW
Best regards,
Luis

You can't convert btu to kW (BTU has a time unit), but can convert to kWh.
BTU * 0.0002928 = kWh
Btu /min * 0.01757 = kW

British thermal unit (Btu)
a unit of heat energy defined as the amount of heat required to raise the
temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. In America the
British thermal unit is sometimes called the heat unit. In defining the Btu,
it is necessary to specify the temperature of

Steve,
the book I was talking about was called 'Solviva'. You can get some of the
info. from the book at the web site below. One idea I had would be to also
plant cottonwood, aspen, and/or other very fast growing trees at the margins
of your Bioremediation area, and that way you can grow firewoo
One problem ( that I don't know what the rate is elseware ) that we have in
the western US, due to allot of the long miles between stopping points, is a
fairly high rate of auto accidents due to Highway Hypnosis, and drivers
falling asleep behind the wheel. One particular incident we had last

Yep. I specifically told him the oil becomes less viscous with heat. Oh
well.

I have been looking for a way. But every which way seems to begin by doing
some immoral, unethical ... or as is the case most of the time, illegal.
Will not quit still looking. Anybody wanna point the way?? I'm all

Or maybe, as in what appears to be in my case SO pre-programmed by "the

Nope. Means becoming as self sufficient as you can.
Build a greenhouse. That is usually a very good thing to do.
Buy food from the source. That is usually half of wholesale.

Thanks Kirk, I thought this was a fun explanation to read. I've
always just used 1 kWh = 3412 BTU, but this was much more in-depth.

A few possibilities:sell everything you own,
buy (or refurbish) a catamaran and sail around
the world,
Problem is ... every way I look at it .. it all seems to start with a large
amount of something called "money". Whether it's to purchase that land to
live off of or to build a greenhouse. And "money" is something I have
a rather short supply of (spelled Z.E.R.O.). Suggestions
