Thats alright Hakan, and yes thanks, I got the harvest finished.

I thought you might find this interesting reading.
Its interesting to see the federal MP's being concerned about the lack
of renewable fuels when they are the ones proposing to legislate to
prevent people from producing their own biodiesel!

Ed, a brilliant post.
Also, might be of interest to a few folk out therejust recently in
Australia we had a major diesel fuel shortage during harvest. Farmers
were being rationed to a few hundred litres each, and in some places the

As far as solid resultsno. Yes as per ACREVO report, 9% ethanol
emulsified into the vege oil. I found the fuel excellent and it burned
cleaned at the exhaust. Talking to a couple of other fellas, they also
have tried it and it worked well, but they did caution that some fuel

I thought it was time for me to chip in on this one, as this a real
focus of interest, and is one of the few ways you can legally use a
renewable fuel in Australia without excise obligations.

Great post. The A55 emulsifier is very interesting. I was at a "Small

Buloke Shire who actually trialled the A55 in a Shire truck, in
Australia. They had it carting sandstone out of a pit, and apparently

Hi Jim

Hi Keith
I installed a kit using one of Eds heaters. The old ute purred away
happily enough on SVO, but I lost a bit of steam going up hills. I read
the ACREVO report and I thought that sounded pretty impressive. I
initially tried methanol, but it wouldn't stay in emulsion...so I got
hold of, and

to us.
Thanks very much for your suggestion and best regards,

In a posting a couple of days ago, there was the mention of producing
biomass pellets. I think there is a lot of merit in the idea. We cold

Back again. I am intrigued by recent mentions of "Green diesel", blends
of 75% vegeoil and 25% diesel. Vegeburner (great website by the way)
also has quite a commentary on micro emulsions. Emulsions are very
simple to make, and are less involved than producing biodiesel, and can

One question. How many acres/hectares of land do you think it would take
to
go to 100% BD for your 20-30,000 litre annual requirement? Is there
already
enough farmland in Australia to supply its fossil fuel needs (barring
power
stations).

Dear Rajendra
I found it interesting that you mention on esterification that the chain length
is broken from C18 or more down to a chain length of C11 - C13.
Can such a difference be due to the variety of oil that is selected? The reason
I ask is that I have been making BD from cold pressed virgin
