Hello sync-devvers,
Now that we've managed to get New Sync v1 (MVP) nailed down and defined, I'll
be shifting away from the project to focus back entirely on Firefox for Android
work.
All future Sync-related product questions should go to Rob Lord.
If MVP-related things do happen to come up, I
Hello
Based on various discussions over the past little while, it has been decided
that for Sync MVP we will go with the simplest of the three options for
user-data selection as presented in Ian's deck (see mail from yesterday).
So, for MVP users will not have the option of selecting which data

Hello
We have set up a new component for filing New Sync user story tracking
bugs:"Tracking :: Firefox Sync". Using that, I've filed bugs for all of the
user stories outlined in the MVP wiki.
Further, I have set up a page in the wiki that uses the bugzilla-mediawiki
query to build tracking ta
Oh yeah: there is one user story missing from the bug list -- this is a known
issue as it's possibly going to change based on discussions this week (the one
about whether Sync settings are universal or device-specific). I'll file that
bug when we've sorted that out.

Hello Sync-devvers
I've made the following additions/changes to the Sync MVP user stories. Please
review these and ensure that they match your current understanding - all
questions/discussion should happen on this thread.
Thanks!

It's just an information page...sort of a "learn more..." link that displays
more information for users who want to understand what's going on. I'm not

I'm proposing two new user stories for New Sync MVP, based on recent user

Just FYI: Tauni, Erin and I are going to meet on Friday to sort out how we want
to file bugs & track progress for New Sync MVP. We'll come up with a proposal
and post that here for discussion early next week, and once we've come to
consensus we'll start filing bugs and setting up a b

I've gone ahead and added these notes to the Sync v1 wiki page here:

We can change anything in there as needed, I just wanted to keep everything in
the same place for now.

I've added a new "Goals" section to the (now migrated) Sync v1 page, and I've

Hello again,
It seems that we have reached consensus* around the New Sync MVP user stories
that are drafted here:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/User:Dria/Firefox_Sync_User_Stories_-_July_2013
If this is true (and let me know if it's not), I propose that our next steps
are:

I believe that we've agreed to have users create Firefox Accounts for Sync, so
I've added two user stories around this to the "Set-up & Account Management"

There have been requests that Product list out some of the future feature &
service ideas we've had that may involve PiCL, to help with early-stage service
planning. I have put together an extensive list of these things on the wiki
