Hi Malmo,
So Jon knows nothing about running but knows something
about training for running (double negative). As for
pontification, your post seems to fit that bill quite
well.
As usual, the truth probably lies somewhere between
the two extremes. I know both types of Kenyan
athletes. The ones
Of course, it is well-known that I type way too fast and push the send

YUP. Agree with you on the Kenyan stuff, but that applies to all runners not
just Kenyans. Many different ways to get there. When we talk about training
it's always best to refer to standard
I must know something about running, having run five marathons. Maybe not as

If you knew a little bit about the physiology of running, you would know
that saying that 800 meters is not a distance event is silly.

Hi All,
What a great weekend! As everybody who has ever gone will tell you, Penn

not for nothing, but there sure didnt seem like there was any wind???
Conditions were great both nights for the distance races, it is just a shame
that no one really comes anymore to run. OD 10k had 9 people on the line I
believe, and college was won in 29:20ish. Maybe time for Mr. D.
Alan Webb and Dathan Ritzenhein will be in the same meet this weekend--but
in separate events. At the Roosevelt Relays in Dayton, Ohio, Ritzenhein will
run the two-mile on Friday, going after the national record of 8:36.3 set in
1979 by Jeff Nelson of California. On Saturday, Webb will run the

Actually, blind handoffs are rare in the 4x200. Too much risk of

Does anyone know how long ago Michael Johnson took the baton for the anchor of a 4x4 when his team wasn't leading? Maybe at Baylor? It was a treat to see him run from behind.

I'm interested in finding a mile race on the track, early in June -

above 4000 feet - obviously to try to get the USATF qualifier. With the 3%
