Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to work on my machine. After
pressing f6 followed by space f2 I get the same message about protected

Press F6 to take it out of protection mode. Then you can use Space

I think if you go to file then options you will eventually come to
trust center where you can fix this problem globally.
