It has been my experience that size is not listed for folders in Windows
Explorer. Is it possible you used another program for a while, say
something like Xplorer? You can get folder info by opening the
properties with the shortcut key of alt plus enter. The total size is
listed along with th

I checked details, but it doesn't change, but what it gave me was a list of
something like two hundered and something items to check in details. I want to
hear what size the files are, and what file type. Pam.

I too have noticed the file size gets read, at times, and is not read at
other times. And the Details is Checked, and still no extra info about
the file.
When it comes to Folders, Seems like I remember the size getting read,

Thanks for the very fine instructions. while I checked what I wanted
reported, when scrolling through files in Win 7 Windows Explorer,
unfortunately, nothing changed, as far as what was read.
I had about 290 items I could Check or Un check, but nothing changed.
