It would be great if the command line mkgmap tool that can
autogenerate a windows Garmin MapSource installer, was a plugin for
JOSM.

JOSM sounds like the "some GUI tool" you want. You simply download a
rectangle of OSM data around the region you need, draw in the paths or
waypoints you want, possibly using a gps trace for a guide, save the
data layer as a .osm file, and build the garmin map off of that.
What exactly are the fea

Hi,
I am aware that I can download .osm file for a certain region and then
create gmapsupp.img for my garmin receiver.
I was wondering if I can do the following
1. Download .osm file for a region
2. Open it in some GUI tool
3. Add a few tracks and waypoints
4. Re-save the OSM data, with the tracks

Points at intersectons in TMC exist once for each road because a point in TMC
ever only belongs to one and only one road.
So of cause they are doubled. That´s how the L

Hey Felix
In OpenSatNav we use the phrase "turn by turn routing" or "turn by turn
navigation". Some call it "real time" or "live" navigation.

I don't care very much about your routes, if they have to figure out in OSM
or not and how to tag them. What I don't want is to see the roads, streets,
avenues, boulevards cut at each intersection because some route is turning
left or turning right at that point.
I start to see this in Paris where

I see the town/city named with some Arabic-like script, until zoom 15 where
it is "Nizampet".
So I think your browser has cached the map tiles. Try holding Control and
pressing the F5 key (windows/linux) which sometimes does a bit more than the
usual F5 refresh. For being zoomed in, the server need
